Gratitude is Thanksgiving!

I trust that everyone was able to give gratitude or receive gratitude from loved ones at this time of thanksgiving. Even if by way of a silent prayer. Thanksgiving is really about reminding us, that if we are breathing we have much to be grateful for. We do not need to wait for a special occasion, to express gratitude to the people we love in our lives, we can acknowledge each other at any time.
How would your life be different if you awoke in the morning with thoughts of love and gratitude? What would change when those thoughts are communicated to those around you? Expressing gratitude for even the most insignificant thoughts, deeds, gestures and words can impact and make a difference we may never know and yet the ripple will go out.
Many years ago when I attended a Bob Proctor seminar, we were each given a blue ribbon to wear that said “Who I am makes a difference”. Bob then shared with us the story behind this ribbon and how more than once people on the edge of making a decision to take themselves out of the game of life, were pulled out of their thoughts and grounded back into their life. We were asked to give our ribbon to someone we thought needed to receive the reminder that, who they are makes a difference.
Very similar to the starfish story where a young person is picking up starfish on the beach and throwing them back into the water at low tide so they would not die on the sand as the hot sun rose up. A man walking by said to this young person, “why would you do this, you can’t possibly save all the starfish that are beached here today?” The young person without stopping or looking up said to the man as he flung one more back into the ocean, “I made a difference for that one!”
We may never know the impact we will have on any one person, just a smile or a nod or a kind word could be the sign they were praying for, that they do make a difference and their life has meaning.
I am most grateful for my loving family and I give thanks every day for all of the blessings in my life.

Blessings to you today and everyday, for much love, peace and joy.
